The heart of SMARTcontrol FOOD.
The SC Anlagensteuerung runs the machine: it implements the machine philosophy, carries the software architecture and is available in various housing versions. The display, I/O module and SC LOG dock onto it.
One controller – two philosophies
for all machine variants
Separating production and machinery
Production
-
Simple operation for production
-
Expert knowledge for production (sequence, procedures …)
Machinery
-
Machine functions (fan type, heating, door opener, horn …)
-
Control of the components (current, voltage, PWM …)
-
Machine set-up, maintenance, diagnostics
The controller follows one consistent principle
Once you have understood it, you can operate every machine in the portfolio.

Modular design enables flexible, machine-specific configurations
3 modules – 3 possible configurations. The components can be arranged in different ways.
Flexibility and longevity based on industry standards.
SMARTcontrol FOOD is based on state-of-the-art software technology and uses standardized protocols. The modern HTML5 user interface can be operated conveniently via the touch panel, PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.
CODESYS® PLC as the basis and communication via industry standards such as OPC-UA, CANopen and Ethernet ensure high stability combined with great flexibility.

Modular in housing and display, too.
Display size, design and protection rating are tailored to the machine.

Frequently asked questions about SMARTcontrol FOOD
- Control software for machines in the food industry.
- Basis: CODESYS V3.X PLC, a real-time software PLC on a 64-bit ARM Linux controller.
- Operation via a local touch panel and via a web user interface (HTML5) on tablet, smartphone and PC.
- Web interface based on NodeJS / web server.
- Part of the SMARTcontrol system construction kit (Touch, IO modules, Log, Cloud).
- Smoking, ripening, shower, cooking, autoclave, climate, tumbler and process machines.
- Intended use: cooking, smoking and climate machines in 24 V DC technology.
- Machine builders (series supply) who want to use a highly flexible controller.
- Dealers and service companies who want to retrofit old machines.
- Butcher shops that want to equip their old machine with a new controller.
- Heating control (electric, oil, steam). 2-point and PID controllers.
- Humidity control (shower or humidification, dampers, injection valve).
- Cooling.
- Fans with stages or frequency converter (FC).
- Valves and dampers with output functions (on/off, interval, switch-on delay).
- Smoke generators (friction, smoldering, steam/liquid smoke).
- Cleaning.
- Horn.
- Door opener.
- Configurable sequences
- Logic operations
- Separation of production and machinery.
- Product program = sequence of steps. Step = process with setpoints. The process parameterizes the machine functions.
- Machine functions are function components, not tied to fixed hardware.
- A change in machinery does not change the product program; for example, switching from a staged fan to an FC fan is transparent to processes and product programs.
- Parameters can be changed at runtime.
