ADLATUS® RTOS Base Software

Lean, real-time-capable embedded basic software for automotive ECUs and industrial control units – without AUTOSAR overhead.

Overview

Lean real-time operating system.

The ADLATUS® RTOS Base Software is a cost-effective, configurable real-time operating system for ECUs with limited memory. It provides the essential basic functions and is the base platform for all other ADLATUS® products.

Typical use: control units for industrial electronics and multiprocessor architectures for which AUTOSAR solutions are too large or too expensive.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ADLATUS® Base Software

What is ADLATUS Base Software?

ADLATUS Base Software is embedded basic software for automotive and industrial control units. It consists of a configurable, cost-effective real-time operating system with lock-free algorithms, the UDS server, the ISO 15765-2 transport protocol and the CAN/CAN FD drivers with CAN signal processing. It is part of the ADLATUS Software Suite.

The software is implemented object-oriented in C with few compiler switches. Generic and hardware-specific code are separated by the HAL; porting to a new microcontroller is done by replacing the HAL. Individual components can be exchanged via defined interfaces. The ADLATUS product package consists of CORE, HAL and CPS (Customer Programming Sequence).

Which quality and safety standards apply?

Software development follows ASPICE Capability Level 2 and ISO 26262 for software safety. The code is MISRA C:2012 compliant; static analysis is performed with PC-lint. Requirements are traceable throughout, from code through to tests. At company level, SIO holds ISO 9001:2015, Automotive SPICE (VDA scope, CL2) and TISAX CL2 for information security.

What is Base Software intended for?

Base Software is intended for control units for which AUTOSAR is too expensive, too cumbersome or too large for the microcontroller. A typical application is CAN control units with little memory. The base platform includes the software update solution ADLATUS Update. Areas of application are industrial electronics, automotive ECUs and multiprocessor architectures.

Is Base Software based on AUTOSAR?

The software architecture is modeled on AUTOSAR. Base Software is aimed at microcontrollers with little memory, on which an AUTOSAR implementation is too large.

Which license and delivery models are available?

The license options available are software buyout, general license or project license. Project licenses are available as a single-project license for one project on one microcontroller, as a multi-project license for several projects on one microcontroller and as a multi-platform license for several projects on one microcontroller family. Delivery is as a binary (object or hex files) or as source code. Software project integration or file delivery only is agreed individually. Maintenance contracts cover ADLATUS and projects.
