CANopen module to CiA 401.

The SMARTcontrol IO Module 880 is a CANopen module to CiA 401, developed specifically for the requirements of the food industry.

Its compact design allows it to be used even where space is tight. All digital channels feature diagnostic functions and can be freely configured as inputs or outputs.

The SMARTcontrol IO Module 880 combines versatile input and output functions in a compact housing. Thanks to flexible channel assignment, the module can easily be adapted to different machine concepts and supports reliable signal processing even where installation space is limited.

Which machines is the IO Module 880 used for?

The module is the input/output level for all SMARTcontrol FOOD machines. However, the IO Module 880 can also be used to operate any other machine.

How many digital channels does the module have?

The IO Module 880 has 64 digital channels that can be freely configured as inputs or outputs. In the standard assignment, ports 1 to 16 are inputs (I1 to I16), ports 17 to 24 are either inputs or outputs (IQ17 to IQ24) and ports 25 to 64 are outputs (Q25 to Q64). The digital inputs operate at 24 VDC.

Which temperature sensors can be connected?

The module has 12 x PT100 in 3-wire technology and 2 x NiCrNi (type K thermocouple). The inputs are not galvanically isolated, the PT100 sensors are shielded, and the inputs withstand external voltages up to ±30 VDC.

How is the module’s software updated?

The module has an integrated ADLATUS Flash Bootloader. The software update is carried out via the CAN interface.
